I've used this pattern many times.  It works up fast and yet looks very lovely and complicated. I decided to use it for my Red Heart Heat Wave yarn after I made my initial mittens.  The pattern is called Go with the flow and is from  My hobby is crochet by Kinga Erdem.

I love the fact that it is made side to side rather than top down or from the bottom up.  And you really only have to count the braidings/sections.  I added a fur pom pom to the new hat for my daughter and she loves it.



This hat I made a few years ago with the same pattern and as you can see, it still looks beautiful.
