Beginner Bootie

Did you suddenly remember that you need to go to a baby shower tomorrow?  No time to make a baby blanket.  But you do have time to make a pair of booties.  These booties are easy enough for a beginner and here is also a similar pattern if you have slightly more skill.  This pattern requires only the knowledge of single crochet!  So grab your baby weight yarn and your hook and join me in making these easy beginner booties. Grab some baby weight yarn (look for the 3 on the label) or try one of these

Baby Booties

Stitches: single crochet (sc)

Hook size: 3.5 MM

Chain 13

Row 1:  sc in second st, and sc across (12) ch 1 and turn

Row 2:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn

Row 3:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn

Row 4:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn

Row 5:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn

Row 6:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn

Row 7:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn

Row 8   sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn

Row 9:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn

Row 10: sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn

Row 11: sc in the first seven stitches, (7) ch 1 and turn

Row 12: sc in the first seven stitches, (7) ch 1 and turn

Row 13: sc in the first seven stitches, ch 1 and turn

Row 14: sc in the first seven stitches, ch 1 and turn

Row 15: sc in the first seven stitches, ch 1 and turn

Row 16: sc in the first seven stitches, ch 1 and turn

Row 17: sc in the first seven stitches, ch 1 and turn

Row 18: sc in the first seven stitches, ch 1 and turn

Row 19: sc in the first seven stitches, ch 1 and turn

Row 20: sc in the first seven stitches, ch 1 and turn

Row 21:  sc in the first seven stitches, ch 6 and turn

Row 22:  sc in the 2nd stitch and every stitch across 
(12), ch 1 and turn

Row 23:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn

Row 24:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn

Row 25:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn





Row 26:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn


Row 27:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn



Row 28:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn



Row 29:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn



Row 30:  sc in every st across (12) ch 1 and turn



Row 31:  sc in every st across (12) 

fold in half and stitch up the side and the bottom.

Then reinsert your yarn on the upper part and stitch that together, gathering the part at the toes.
To finish you can single crochet around the top hole that the foot will go into.
