You can use any yarn that you like of course to make these hearts.  I used a couple different types of yarn.  The cream colored hearts are made with lion brand cotton yarn

The yellow and green and lavender hearts were all made with Lion Brand Coboo yarn which is a cotton and bamboo blend.

The red hearts were made with either caron simply soft or with Red Heart with love.  I can't remember which but I have both in my yarn stash.  So it could be either.  I like using the Coboo or the Caron Simply soft to make appliques.  Both have brilliant colors and work nicely detailed appliques.

The blue heart was made with Lily Sugar 'n cream in light blue which gives it a country blue look and pairs nicely with cream

Stitches:

sc= single crochet

dc = double crochet
